Your First Project in FabTrkFrom a fresh account to a tracked project in one sitting, covering what to upload, what FabTrk builds for you, and where everything lands.FabTrk is organized around projects. A project is one job: it owns a bill of materials, a task list, a document set, and (when there is a model) an interactive 3D view. This guide walks the first one from zero. Create your account and organization Registering creates your account and your organization in one step. The organization is the boundary around everything: projects, team members, inventory, and documents belong to your org and are visible only inside it. You are the Owner, which means every permission and full control of the org's settings. The Free plan covers up to 3 active jobs with one team member, so you can run a real project end to end before deciding on anything paid. Two ways to start a project Upload a fabrication package. If the job was detailed elsewhere, create the project and ingest the package: drawings, KISS or DSTV/NC1 files, an IFC model, or a folder mixing all three. FabTrk reads the package and builds the project from it: every part in the cut list becomes a tracked piece, drawings are filed into folders, and an IFC model mounts as a live 3D view. Nothing is retyped. Design the building in FabTrk. For pre engineered metal building work, the built in Designer goes from a parametric spec (width, length, eave height, roof profile, bays, openings) to a generated frame, a bill of materials, and a starter drawing set. Publishing the design writes its parts straight into the same tracking pipeline an uploaded package uses. (The Designer gets its own guide.) Either way, the result is identical downstream: a project with parts, tasks, and documents that the whole shop works from. What FabTrk builds for you Once a project has parts, several things exist automatically: The BOM. Every piece with its mark, profile, material, length, and computed weight, each tracked through the shop individually. Assemblies. Parts grouped under their parent assembly marks (frames, purlin runs, girt lines), each with a stage derived from the state of its pieces. The pipeline board. The dashboard's Fab → Fit → Weld → QC view of where every assembly stands, plus a needs attention lane for anything stalled. Documents. The drawing set, filed and viewable in the browser: PDFs, DXF drawings with rendered part marks, and the 3D IFC model. Put it on the floor Invite your crew from the Team page (each invite is an email link, scoped to your org and a role; see the roles guide). Workers see their assignments, advance pieces with one tap as they cut, fit, and weld, log time against the project, and attach notes and photos from the floor. That is the loop: the office sees live progress without asking, and the floor never fills in a spreadsheet.
